YS
the city beneath the waves
King Gradlon built Ys below the level of the sea, behind a great dike, and kept
the only key to its sluice gate on a chain around his neck. One night his daughter
Dahut stole it and opened the gates. The sea came in.
Her pearls are still scattered through the drowned streets.
